Kelly Phillips Badal is an experienced print and digital writer, editor, copywriter and brand strategist with a particularly deep expertise in interior design, travel, lifestyle, hospitality and real estate. An expert storyteller and content creator, she’s held a variety of editorial staff positions for national and regional magazines and has served an extensive list of clients—both big-name and boutique—through editorial consulting, content creation, branding, copywriting and more. Most recently the editor-in-chief of Interiors California, she’s been the executive editor of Angeleno, a senior editor at Country Living and the lifestyle editor at Better Homes & Gardens. She’s additionally held senior-level editorial roles at the Airbnb-owned brand Luxury Retreats and for Yahoo. Her work, including various high-profile cover stories, has been published in Sunset, Luxe Interiors + Design, California Homes, BBC Travel, CondeNastTraveler.com and TravelandLeisure.com, among other outlets. She’s also worked extensively with national brands like Compass and Crate & Barrel, and provides editorial consulting services to several major interior designers. Kelly lives in Los Angeles with her husband, the travel, hotel and lifestyle photographer Tanveer Badal. Together, they’re also the co-founders of the travel content marketing agency Compass and Passport and co-manage the Los Angeles-based photo booth company Prime Booth.
